Welcome to the PEARL JAM RUMOR PIT Issue #34 - October 18, 1998 This on-line newsletter was created as a direct link to the fans. If you would like to ask a question about Pearl Jam, the Vitalogy Health Club asks that you please direct your questions to [email protected] or [email protected]. We have much information to confirm and rumors to dispel, so let's go...into the Pit! EYES AND EARS... What a tour...we had such a blast...more, more! If you're also feeling a bit Pearl Jam deprived now that the summer tour has ended, don't fear. They're always busy doing something so there's always something new to look forward to - things to see, things to hear, places to go and 1999 is shaping up as another great year to be a Pearl Jam fan. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR... We'll have a Pearl Jam photo-book to flip through this December! Pearl Jam's photo-book is entitled, "Place/Date" and it features concert photos and candid shots of the band taken by internationally known photographers, Lance Mercer and Charles Peterson. Some of their earliest photographic work dates back to the artwork for Soundgarden's Ultramega OK and Green River's, Rehab Doll/Dry as a Bone, respectively. Ten/Vitalogy Health Club members will have first chance to order the limited edition hard cover version before its release to the general public in soft cover in April, 1999. All the information you'll need on how to get your very own copy will be in the next Ten Club Newsletter #13, expected to be mailed out any minute now. PLAY IT BY EAR... Live album? What live album? We only received one question about the upcoming live album. Ok so it was more like five hundred and twenty-three but who's counting. After consulting with the Great Oracle, Deep Throat, and the Magic Eight Ball on the current rumors, the only answer to questions about the live album was a warm-sounding, "hmmmm." We thought that was strange because Eight Balls don't usually speak but the real deal is that Pearl Jam expects to have firm information this week. We can be patient...we know it'll be great and great takes time. Please check Synergy later in the week for the info at http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/PearlJam/. KEEP ANOTHER EYE OUT FOR... Less mysterious is the information about side projects and the like and 1999 is looking good there. Jeff's second Three Fish album is expected out in the spring and an album from Mike's new side project, The Rockfords, should be out next year too. We're happy to confirm that Ed the X fan has contributed vocals for the Supersuckers cover of two X songs on an upcoming X tribute album to be released early next year also. KEEP YOUR EAR TO THE GROUND... As far as new tour info goes, there are no definite dates to report yet but they're still thinking of making an appearance in Argentina in March, 1999. Also, those plans for a European tour are now for the fall of 1999. Dispelling a few appearance rumors: Pearl Jam have no plans to tour Australia and/or New Zealand shortly after Xmas or appear with KISS on New Year's Eve in Detroit. They didn't contribute to the new AC/DC album and have no plans to tour with them on their rumored final tour. There are also no plans to appear in Holland in Nov./Dec. or do a small club tour right now. FOLLOW YOUR NOSE... Coming soon: Scratch and Sniff Pearl Jam Stickers... "Scents of the '98 Tour."
